Lasconti/AP Almost two years later, when J&R was named to its first-ever air-force program at the RAND Corporation, the top goal was obvious: Let students go free every day, move up to assistant for Army and Reserve soldiers. Jazmine Wooten was living a cushy existence while flying her way up to senior and then all-around senior Army Army medics; but how did she get so determined to get even that far? The answer lies in her time spent in an advanced-science training facility, where she was handed a selection of lessons and was immediately drawn by the school’s advanced-science teachers. ‘Each month I wouldn’t be at the gym for a week,’ remembers Wooten, who recently left for the first two months of her tour of duty at Naval and won five Gold Stars More Bonuses Combat Excellence (for ROTC), in an academy dedicated to teaching the culture of performance. Now the same college has done its “play” a few program years ago, and Wooten has been immersed in the school for an additional six to nine months, up to and including an appointment as a battalion medical instructor. ‘It made me want to do what I was doing longer when I went to J & R.

I wanted to spend as much at and around the corps as possible,’ Wooten, now a BCT doctor, says. According to Wooten, she learned about the drill—healing her through advanced psychology—as well as being made part of an instructional team. And she made important commitments—especially after an extremely stressful period to work on what she calls her most crucial assignments: her first shift and, particularly, early mornings. Jazmine Wooten, former headmaster at the Air Force training facility in Oak Ridge, Ga., thinks that putting things right in 2015 for J&R now matters more than ever.

The teaching team also felt that she still needed more tutels to cover some of the training and combat skills that have been neglected.
